About Villages of NC

The concept for the Villages of North Carolina was born from the difficulties founder Erin Crites faced as a single mom struggling with postpartum anxiety and navigating the medical system for her then two-year-old daughter during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although Erin had her parents and their knowledge of the community, she still struggled to locate what resources she needed. As the months passed, Erin continued to meet others who had similar stories and every mom she met had the same wish - how do I find that village that’s supposed to help me raise my child? Erin envisioned a way to locate all those village members in one place, minimizing the stress so families can live healthier, happier lives. 

We serve as a regional resource center for Perinatal Care Region VI offering resources, programs, and support to address social determinants of health.
